Dr. Stacia L. Robertson is an Associate Professor in the Rehabilitation Counselor Training program at the Rehabilitation Institute, Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University (2003) and a M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (1995). Prior to joining the SIUC faculty, Dr. Robertson worked in the field of rehabilitation and counseling, for over 10 years. She also worked in the areas of substance abuse, personal/emotional counseling, vocational rehabilitation, and independent living. During her doctoral work, Dr. Robertson was the recipient of college and national research grants. As an Assistant Professor Dr. Robertson was the recipient of both the Rehabilitation Institute and the College of Education and Human Services Teacher of the Year Awards. Her research interests include rehabilitation counselor training and development, diversity issues, and vocational rehabilitation. Dr. Robertson is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and has served on the Board of Directors for both local and national organizations.
